Net Control Stations

Each net control station for the Sunday morning PEMA / RACES net shall have a pre-assigned backup net control station, preferably from his county. This backup NCS shall take over if:

The primary NCS does not start the net promptly at 9AM
The primary NCS encounters a problem during the net
The primary NCS must leave the net before completion
The primary NCS cannot hear or be heard by other members on the net
Any other reason that may require his assistance

Furthermore, the county assigned for the following week shall assume the duties of NCS if the assigned county's backup does not take over. Serving as backup NCS shall not relieve that county of their responsibility of a net being conducted on their assigned week.

In the cases of an actual activation, Net Control shall assign a backup NCS as soon as possible from those first checking into the net. The backup NCS shall maintain all records of check-ins and traffic passed so that a seamless transition to NCS can be made if necessary.
